Show & Tell Tuesday: Momfessional Moments

Back for another edition of Show and Tell Tuesday with Andrea!

This week, we're talking about some of "momfessional" moments.

#1. Bed Time

I love my kid and I love spending time with her, but when 6:30 rolls around and we start her bed time routine, I do a happy dance inside. When I close that bedroom door for the night, I get in my pjs, pour myself a glass of wine and watch some tv. It's glorious.

#2. Car Rides

Unless we're going to be in the car for a good length of time, Riley is not allowed to fall asleep. I will resort to loud music, rolled down windows, letting her play on my phone to avoid the 5 minute car ride nap that ruins her afternoon nap.

#3. Shopping Cart Cover

I get grossed out by germs on shopping carts, so I leave a shopping cart cover in our car and always use when running errands, grocery shopping, etc.

#4. Sheets

I tell myself sheets will get washed every other week, nope, doesn't happen. I have the best intentions!

#5. Food Allergies

It took me forever to try milk and nuts with Riley. I am really afraid of food allergies. In fact, I just recently gave Ry peanut butter for the first time and she is 15 months old. Dairy wasn't until about 2 months ago.

#6. Play Tunnel

Riley has a crawl through play tunnel that we play in a lot. Sometimes I'll crawl in there and close my eyes for a few minutes while she plays around me.

#7. Books

I hide Riley's books sometimes. There are some books that we have read 50 million times in two days. You know what I mean? So sometimes I will take those books we've read a lot and put them away in the office.

#8. Snacks

If we are in public, my kid can eat as many snacks as her little heart wants. If it keeps her happy and I can get errands done, fine with me!

#9. Holidays

I am a big sucker for holidays and doing those things like pumpkin picking, seeing Santa, etc. I even made Mike go with me once to pick out pumpkins and we were the only kid-less people there. Now that I have a child, we get to do all these fun family things. It is mainly for her, but there is definitely a part of it that is for me.

#10. I Don't Know What I'm Doing

I don't do everything right, that's for sure! I just do the best I can. I love on her and put my heart into everything I do with her. I worry that I am not doing the best I can. That she will remember the times I lost my temper or had a bad day instead of the belly giggles at bath time or the times I held her after she had a bad dream. Motherhood isn't easy and no one is perfect. We are all just trying to live each day with the best intentions, praying our kids turn out okay. It's nice to know there are other moms who have some of the same "momfessional" moments as me!

Be sure to check back for more Show and Tell Tuesdays! In two weeks, we'll be discussing what we wanted to be when we grew up.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

  1. I relate to so many on this list! Except the germ one. Haha. My confession is that I NEVER use cart covers. Oops! I've gotten some dirty looks from other mothers in Target over that. Also so funny about the play tunnel because I do the same thing!! Never would have thought another mom did it too :-)
