Today, I'm linking up with Mel, Sheaffer & Shay for a What's Up Wednesday post where we share some details about our week with you all.
Let's get started.
What we're eating this week..
The beauty of living on a boarding school campus is we eat most of our weekday meals in the dining hall with the students, so this week I only need to plan for Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Friday: Salmon, rice pilaf & broccoli
Saturday: Out to eat
Sunday: Crock pot chicken teriyaki with steamed rice and sauteed veggies
What I'm reminiscing about..
Summers at the beach. Growing up, every year we would go on vacation to the beach and it is one of the fondest memories I have from growing up. We live in a coastal New England town now and with summer around the corner I have been thinking a lot about my time by the ocean and I'm looking forward to bringing Riley to the beach this summer.
What I'm loving..
Play dates with friends outdoors. After a long winter, it has been really nice to spend time outside!
What we've been up to..
April has been a busy month for us!
We went to South Carolina,
had the Best Man in our wedding in town,
spent time with my parents,
& went on lots of play dates.
What I'm dreading..
A really busy month winding down the school year, which means not as much time with Mike. He works hard and it is all worth it, we just miss him!
What I'm working on..
Getting back into running.
I went for a 1 mile run on Saturday with Ry in the jogging stroller to test the waters and see how it went and surprisingly it went well. I finished the mile thinking that I'll definitely need to ease back into it but it is definitely do able with the stroller. I work out 6 days a week so I think that helps. When I finished my milke, Ry and I went down to the water and collected seashells. It was wonderful! I think this will be a new Saturday morning tradition.
What I'm excited about..
Warmer days spent outside and at the beach. I can't wait to wake up to hear the birds chirping!
What I'm watching/reading..
Grey's Anatomy!! #tearsfordays #passthetissues #like50ofthem
& RHONY, Scandal, American Idol, & 19 Kids & Counting.
I'm reading Where We Belong by Emily Giffin and so far I love it! If you love the way Jodi Piccouly writes with a less really intense emotion than you'll love it. Definitely a good read!
What I'm listening to..
Michael Buble, Lady Antebellum & Zac Brown Band.
What I'm wearing..
Shorts & maxi dresses in SC & sweaters and slip ons in CT.
What I'm doing this weekend..
Ry and I are walking in a March of Dimes walk on Saturday to support a friend who's son was born very premature (he is thriving now!) and then headed up to MA to watch my niece play in an ultimate frisbee tournament.
What I'm looking forward to next month..
Spending time outside!
What else is new..
The other day Riley and I were reading a book and she flipped to the back cover that had a bird flying in the sky and she points to the bird on the book and then points outside to the sky. It was incredible! Yes, I know I am one of those moms that gets so excited over those little details, but when your a parent and you see where your little one begins and how much they develop and grow it is pretty incredible to witness. I didn't know that she could make those connections yet! Pretty awesome!
What I'm getting my mom for Mother's Day..
I'm treating my mom to a mani-pedi and lunch!
What about you? What are you getting the moms in your life for Mother's Day?
Have a great day!
Awe, your family sounds precious!!! Good for you for getting back into running! I am trying SO, SO hard, but I hate it! Enjoy your mani/pedi!
ReplyDeleteHello from the link up! I love your blog background. It is so cheerful! Salmon is also on our weekend meal plan. Your crock pot chicken sounds really good too. Do you have a recipe? Also, where did you get the mint shorts? They look like a good length!
