Favorite Things: Red, White & Blue

Linking up with Erika & Andrea for another edition of Favorite Things and this month it is all about our favorite red, white & blue. Fitting for the month of July! And it got me thinking, what are some things I love that are red, white & blue. There are lots of things I love that are red, like strawberries, a good red nail polish, and the red that surrounds Christmas time. When I think of things that I love are white, I come back to nail polish of course, but there are other things too like a good pair of white denim jeans, white fluffy summer clouds, peanut butter and fluff sandwiches, etc. Blue is my favorite color so I tend to gravitate to it in my decorating, my clothes, etc. I also love the blue ocean waves and a blue, sunny sky. There are a lot of things I love that are red, white & blue, like the symbolism for the freedoms I experience each day living in this country and it makes me think of all of those who serve, or have served, to protect our country and their families. These are some of the things I think of what I think of the colors, red, white, and blue.

Now, for today's post, I thought it might be fun to show you some things from the Nordstrom anniversary sale (now open to non-cardholders too!), that are either red, white or blue. They have some really awesome fall pieces! ALL UNDER $50!! This should be fun!

These are just a few of my favorite items they have in the Nordstrom fall preview! The sale ends August 2nd and then the prices will go back up again. Remember, everything I showed you is under $50! Score! Definitely worth trying on and seeing if you like it. So cute for fall!

Here's what we have coming up this year for the Favorite Things series.

Have a wonderful day!

Favorites Things: Summer Shoes

Linking up with Erika & Andrea for another edition of Favorite Things and this month it is all about our favorite summer shoe.

I have three go to shoes during the summer.

Flip Flops

I live in my flip flops during the summer. To the beach, to the pool, outside to play. They are easy, comfortable and I don't mind if they get wet or dirty. With a toddler, I need a Summer shoe that I can run around and play in.

Nothing compares to my Old Navy flip flops for $2.50 (Orig. $4). The perfect price and the perfect beach/pool shoe. They are really pretty comfortable too! Find them HERE.

I love a neutral shoe that will go with everything. I own a pair of black. I really like the grey ones too.

For a pop of color, I'm loving the lavender and aqua.

Strappy Sandals

I love easy strappy sandals to add a little something to my outfit in the Summer. I'm all about the neutral browns and tans for shoe wear. These three options are all comfortable and super cute! You can find them on Amazon by clicking the links below.

Rainbows

I LOVE my Rainbow sandals. They are sort of my in-between shoe. Not a flip flop and not a strappy sandal. They are SO comfortable. They take a little breaking in but then they fit perfectly and mold to your foot. They don't do great in water, so I'd avoid wearing them to the pool or beach, but the perfect Summer shoe to wear if you'll be doing a lot of walking! Find them on Amazon by clicking the link below.

So those are some of my favorite Summer shoes! Thanks for stopping by!

See you all tomorrow for a little Fourth of July Pinterest inspiration!

Have a great day!

Favorite Things: Hair Products

First, I just want to take a minute to honor all the men and women who lost their lives serving our country and their families. You are remembered everyday, but especially today!

Linking up with Erika & Andrea for another edition of Favorite Things and this month it is all about our favorite hair products.

I love my dry shampoo! I wash my hair every other day so the dry shampoo helps my hair make it through until the days when I wash my hair. It works really well!

I really like to spray this in my hair before going to the beach. It protects my hair and keeps it from detangling.

This is the perfect spray for my curly hair! On days when I don't have time to straighten my hair, this is the perfect spray for me. It doesn't make my hair hard or sticky. It leaves them feeling soft and beachy. I love it!

OGX is the best shampoo and conditioner for my hair. It leaves my hair soft without a lot of breakage and a lot of shine. And it's affordable. Win, win.

These are my favorite hair products! Be sure to check back next month! We'll be talking about our favorite summer shoe!

Favorite Things: Accessories

Linking up with Erika & Andrea for another edition of Favorite Things and this month it is all about our favorite accessories.

My wedding ring & engagement ring are obviously more special to me than any other accessory I own but I don't really consider it an accessory but for those of you who'd like to see them here are some pictures.

I love my engagement ring and I think he did a great job picking it out, but I would've loved whatever he choose because of what they mean. I never take my wedding rings off, ever. I just love looking down and seeing them there.

Now onto my other favorite accessories.

#1 My Fossil Watch
(Nordstrom Rack)
Similar-Fossil

I love a boyfriend watch. It is my favorite way to accessorize. It isn't overkill and adds a little something to an outfit and really can go with whatever I'm wearing on a given day. I wear this watch almost everyday.

#2 My Alex & Ani Bracelets
(Here)

I have been given a lot of Alex & Ani bracelets as gifts over the past few years. I currently own the Family, Daughter, Strength, Aunt, & Love bangle bracelets. I love them! When I'm making a "stacked wrist" aka layering lots of bracelets on one wrist, I usually add some Alex & Ani bracelets. They are also fun to wear just on their own. If you are looking for a Mother's Day gift this would be a great option & they are really affordable. A lot of them are only $28!

#3 Sparkly Stud Earrings
(Nordstrom)
Similar-Target

I wear these earrings all the time! I've never been a big earring person and prefer studs. These are especially great when you have your hair pulled back to add a little something to your look.

#4 Teal Fashion Necklace
(Walmart)
Similar HERE-Amazon

This was a STEAL for sure. I picked it up at Walmart a few summers ago for $5! I love to wear it to dress up an outfit & I wear it a lot to weddings, special events, etc. I couldn't find mine at Walmart, but Amazon has a lot of really awesome statement necklaces. Follow the link above for a really cute one that is reasonably priced and on sale at $24.29 with FREE SHIPPING.

#5 Riley Necklace
(Etsy)

The picture is a little blurry, but this is what the pendant looks like up close.

My Christmas gift before Riley was born was a pendant with her "R" initial on it. We found a small initial pendant on Etsy HERE for only $9.00 and knew it was perfect. Mike wanted my opinion before buying and, in an attempt to save money, we decided to buy just the pendant and find a necklace somewhere else to add it to. I found THIS necklace at Target that had an infinity symbol and knew it was the perfect necklace to add the pendant to. In total, I only spent about $25 (I got the necklace on sale last year). I plan on adding to the necklace as we have more children. This was another reason why I loved just buying a pendant because I can add to it later. Target is doing a BOGO 50% off on select accessories right now too, so it is a perfect time to get one as a gift for Mother's Day or for yourself!

So these are my absolute favorite accessories!

Next month, we'll be talking about our favorite hair products!

See you all back here tomorrow!

My Favorite Things: Nail Polish Edition

Every month, on the last Monday of the month, I will be linking up with Andrea and Erika to bring you some of our favorites things. This month, it's all about our favorite nail polish.

This is an easy one for me. I love Essie nail polish.

This is the best brand I've found where the nail polish really stays on well. I have also recently discovered a gel topcoat by Sally Hansen that I use every time I paint my nails. This gives me long lasting wear. I usually paint my nails every 5-ish days.

My favorite Essie colors right now are these colors.

It may be hard to tell but here are some pictures of me wearing these colors.

Top Left: Master Plan, Top Right: Under the Twilight
Bottom Left: Ador-a-ball, Bottom Right: Mint Candy Apple

Master Plan is a great neutral color. It wears like a grey with a slight hue of purple. I wear it a lot in the Fall & Winter. Under the Twilight is a dark purple color. It wears almost like black. It is another Fall/Winter staple for me. They no longer make Under the Twilight but this color, Smokin' Hot, looks similar. Ador-a-ball is a tan/white color. I love it for days I want my nails to look more subtle. I wear it year round. Mint Candy Apple is my new favorite color for Spring. It wears like a Tiffany Blue color. I love LOVE it!

What are some of your favorites? I would love to try some new colors!

Hope you have a wonderful day!

Favorite Things: Target

Every month, on the last Monday of the month, I will be linking up with Andrea and Erika to bring you some of our favorites things. This month, it's all about our favorites things from Target.

Ya'll I love this! Who doesn't love Target?! I mean really. I go there with good intentions to only buy what's on my list, but that never seems to happen.

This is pretty much the story of my life!

Here are some things I am currently in LOVE with at Target.

Favorite #1: Ninja Blender

I LOVE my Ninja Blender. I use it all the time and it works great! I think one of my favorite features on my Ninja blender is that it comes with single serving cups that attach right to the blender. I don't have to use the whole blender and clean it out each time. I just fill the individual cup with what I want in my smoothie and attach it to the blender. I blend it up, detach it and I'm good to go! No clean up! I love it as a food processor too.

Target is having a sale on this one which was originally $139.99 and is on sale now for $132.99.
Find mine here.

Favorite #2: Kayce Boots

I love these boots. In fact, I've already talked about them on the blog here.
I got them at Target in the Fall when they were doing a BOGO 50% off deal when I was out shopping with my mom and they have not disappointed. They are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn and the side zipper and buckle are to die for. Love love love.

Favorite #3: Lilly Pulitzer

Have you heard?! Lilly Pulitzer is teaming up with Target and coming out with a line on April 19th of this year! Okay, so I haven't actually bought anything so it's hard to call it a favorite yet, but just take a look at some of these sneak peek photos!

I will definitely be hitting up our local Target come April 19th! You can sign up for an email reminder for when the collection launches in April by going here and scrolling to the bottom of the page where it says "RSVP now".

Favorite #4: The Target Dollar Spot

I always find the neatest stuff in the dollar section at Target. Cute notepads, fun holiday things, things for Riley girl, party favors, decoration ideas (I just bought some really great burlap ribbon yesterday!), etc. I always take a look before heading further into the store.

Favorite #5: Swimsuit Inspiration

Target has so really cute swimsuits out right now. These are some of my favorites.

Xhilaration Push-Up Halter Bikini

Xhilaration Bandeau Bikini

I love that they have the under wire to give me extra support. The first one is sort of sporty which I like and great for running around on the beach with my 1 year old. I am always searching for a bandeau top with under wire. I like wearing a bandeau so I avoid sun tan lines. And the pattern is so cute!

So these are some of my favorite Target items.

Here's what is on tap in the months to come for Favorite Things.

Also, I wanted to tell you about a special giveaway that a fellow blogger at Pinterest Told Me To is doing to honor a mama of a child with special needs. Let all those special mamas you know, know about this wonderful giveaway!

In other news..
