We have had a wonderful Fall. It has been a whirlwind settling into our new home, but we are finally starting to feel settled and this place is really starting to feel like home. We celebrated Halloween. As a family, we decided to go with a pumpkin patch theme. Riley was a pumpkin (just like her Dad's 2nd Halloween..his first he was an itty bitty thing- being born in August he was only 3 months old). Mike was a pumpkin farmer, and I was a scarecrow. We had a lot of fun celebrating a holiday with a child. Takes on a whole new meaning once again. Riley is definitely too little to do actual trick or treating so we opted for some Outlet Mall Trick or Treating. We wanted to do SOMETHING so we felt this was a happy medium..and mom and dad got some candy ;) win win.
In November, we also took a trip to Virginia to see my sister and her family. It was really special to see our daughters together. Last time they were together Riley was only 3 months old. She wasn't able to really play with her cousin. This trip, with Riley crawling and pulling up etc, they were really able to interact a lot more. I also got my haircut while we were down there. I haven't had my hair cut since before Riley was born. It felt so nice to have a fresh cut! We spent a lot of time just spending time as a family. We did go out for Hibachi one night and we had a game night with my brother-in-laws family who lives close by. We had a great weekend! (the stomach bug hit us all pretty hard when we got home..but we are on the mend this week thank goodness!)
Riley girl also turned 9 months old on the 11th. It is incredible to think how much she has grown. She has been out as long as she was in my belly! She is getting into everything and is able to pull up and move along the couch to the coffee table and squat to sitting on her own. She loves to waves, clap and listen to music. At her wellness check up we found out she is in the 97 percentile for height and 99th percentile for head circumference (shocker there!). She is a happy, energetic little girl who warms out heart every day with her contagious giggles, sweet eyes and snuggles. What a blessing she is! We love you Riley girl!
We are so looking forward to the holidays. Spending time with my husband's family for Thanksgiving (first time flying with Ry!) and then back for Christmas with quick trip to my family's for a pre-Christmas-Christmas with everyone (haven't all been together with the babies ever!). It really is the most wonderful time of the year!
